Little Fears Added

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Huzzah! Lee has worked some Internet magic and received preliminary approval to support Little Fears™ in our rag!

Cheers to Lee!

Also, a horror-based supplement to Little Fears called The Nightmare Edition is in production now (or so the rumor goes), and we are positioned to support it! Anyone quivering with anticipation to write something for Little Fears?

Still need submissions! 64 A4 pages?

Cheers!

Demon Seeds – Hooks and What’s Really Going On!

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

In what can only be called a blatant rip-off, we are co-opting someone else’s great idea. Yes, we are. That someone else are the folks at Tales of Terror.

We are asking fans to submit what we are calling Demon Seeds.  Visit the Tales of Terror website and you’ll know what I’m talking about. There lies the rip-off, but with a twist.Tales of Terror are focused on Call of Cthulhu® adventure seeds. Our focus is much broader in scope. So here it is if you are interested:

Demon Seed Submission:

One file in straight text or rich text format containing a single Demon Seed. The Demon Seed should consist of the following:

  • Title of the Seed
  • Game systems or settings for which the Seed is appropriate
    • If the Seed is truly generic, then state that
  • Author’s Name!!! Do not forget that!
  • 1 to 5 paragraphs detailing a situation or event preferably using a journalistic style.
  • 3 sections (at least) containing different and horrific explanations of What’s Really Going On
    • Each section should be less than 5 paragraphs.

(optional) One or more files containing related artwork (see the Submissions page for artwork guidelines)

But………if the idea is killer, take all the space you need, we will not turn it away.

Anyone that can recall the Sunday Dark Conspiracy Chat that ran for a few years a while back, knows that these Demon Seeds were the bread and butter of those discussions! On any given Sunday, Lee’s chat room coordination efforts would result in at least five of these darn things, these Demon Seeds. Often it would result in an article submission to Demonground! <sigh> those were the days….

Anyway, fire up those idea mills, tap-dance on those keys, and send us some of your Demon Seeds.

Cheers!

Under the Floorboards

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Villains!” I shrieked, “dissemble no more! I admit the deed! –tear up the planks! here, here! –It is the beating of his hideous heart!

Edgar Allen Poe
The Tell-Tale Heart

What is under those planks…?…Why, it’s Lee!

We are reserving some space for a regular column by a real die hard role player, and just by coincidence a co-editor of Protodimension Magazine, Lee Williams.

At the back of each issue, Lee will provide his insightful wisdom in his very own column. If you don’t know, the back of the issue is where all the geniuses are put. Under the floorboards is where all the real gems are swept, but you already know that. So look for Lee’s words in Issue #1.

Cheers!

Addition of Crafty Games to Our Big List

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

Advertising pays off!

Patrick Kapera of Crafty Games saw our blurb posted in some forum or other and has offered us permission to support their game systems. I must say that Patrick was very nice in his emails, and I look forward to helping Crafty out with fan material!

If you will recall, these guys publish Spycraft 2.0®. If I recall, and I probably do not, Spycraft (1.0?) was the first D20 Modern game (but don’t tell anyone I said that). I bought it and loved it! Still do!

Well Crafty Games has a basketful of games for which we can offer support, so poke that Muse in the ribs and get busy!

Supplements to Spycraft like Conspiracies, Shadow Force Archer, and Fragile Minds all have direct applicability to what we are trying to do here, so please dig in! If you are unfamiliar with Crafty Games’ games (see if the old spell checker likes that repeated redundancy) I refer you to their web site. (See side-bar.)

Having a great day (sorry about that to all you bi-polars, you know who you are!)

Cheers!

First “Official” Submission

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

Christopher Smith Adair, yep that’s the name. (I hope you are not in witness protection.) Christopher has emailed us a submission – our very first submission through our submission email! (See Submissions in the side-bar). I must say that I like it very much! It has already been accepted for publication in our premier issue. You heard it here before we told Christopher. It is a Call of Cthulhu® squamous and rugose tome of ill repute — and as you well know, such tomes are timeless. Useful in any campaign. Veritable coffee table material. No really. Anyway this one is completely consistent internally and externally and it has this…

Well, you’ll just have to read the first issue!

Cheers!
